V Shape Body Guide : Build Big Strong Shoulder Muscles

U.S. Marines count out push-ups.

It is dream of many guys not only to bulk up and get big, but also to achieve the v shape body that we often see in bodybuilders and comic book super heroes. However, there are many men who think that to get that v shaped body, they just need to build up big broad back muscles and lats. Try building just those muscles and you’ll soon realize that they are not enough if you do not have a muscular chest, strong massive shoulder muscles ( or deltoids ) and a slim waist without those tummy fats a.k.a 6 pack abs.

So how do you build those deltoid muscles or shoulder muscles?

One of the fundamental in building big muscles is using intensity. In this case, there are 3 parts of the shoulder muscles you need to work on in order to build a well defined balanced strong deltoids :

1. anterior deltoid (front delt)
2. medial deltoid (middle delt)
3. posterior deltoid (back delt)

Not many people realize that building your shoulder muscles involved more than just building the anterior delts with military press. Thus, most people actually over train their anterior delts with exercises like bench press, dips and push ups which also just work on this muscle as well.

You need to take extra care when you are working your shoulder muscles as your shoulders joints are fragile and they are very prone to injuries. You need to maintain proper form when doing the exercises. Why risk your shoulders and cause injuries which may result in permanent damages that could lead to you not able to train anymore? In fact, this exercise, the narrow grip upright row is quite tricky to perform as it involves unnatural and awkward shoulder joint movement that may easily cause injury to your shoulders.

To build big strong deltoids, you need to include other exercises like Arnold Press, Lateral Raise, Bent Over Lateral Raises, Shoulder Width Upright Row and Shoulder Cable. These are very effective in training your shoulder muscles and develop strong healthy shoulder muscles. If you want to find out how to do them, you can refer to this resource.

This is only part of the muscles you need to build for a v shape body. In the coming articles, we will discuss on the rest of the strong muscles you need to develop like a big broad chest, flared lats and a 6 pack abs.
